In the context of the « Investissements d’Avenir » program, French Government launched its first call for proposals “Excellence Laboratories” in 2010, to emerge high potential laboratories and promote new scientific projets with an international visibility.
DEVweCAN LabEx – Cancer Development and Targeted Therapies – is one of the 12 LabEx awarded by Government in Lyon (France), and is supported by University of Lyon. The project is managed by Dr. Patrick Mehlen, and gathers 11 famous research teams in oncology and development.
Borderline between cancer research and development, DEVweCAN ambition is to improve our knowledge of reactivated embryonic mechanisms during tumor progression, to discover and validate new tumor progression markers and next to identify and develop new therapeutic targets against cancer.
